Competing in the Valley Cup Tournament in Holyoke on Saturday, the Frontier youth field hockey team earned wins over Longmeadow (3-0), South Hadley (1-0) and Westfield (2-0) before beating East Longmeadow (1-0) in the finals to win the championship. 

Michaela Sloan scored the game-winner against East Longmeadow while Grace Puchalski, Kenzie Green, Sloan, Natalie Engstrom and Simone Toschik had goals in the tournament. Toschnik made 17 saves while Aspen DiDona made two saves. 

■ The Greenfield Rec field hockey squad beat South Hadley (6-2) and Belchertown (14-0) over the weekend. 

Danielle Zraunig had three goals and an assist, Penelope Gioules had one goal and two assists, Charley Dean and Ava Diefendorf each scored while Makenna Ward made 10 saves against South Hadley. 

Against Belchertown, Zraunig had four goals and an assist, Gioules had four goals, Maddie Coughlin and Diefendorf each had two goals, Dean and Grayson Baker scored while Savannah Thomas had two assists. 

Golf

Frontier alumni tourney

The fourth annual Frontier Baseball Boosters Alumni Golf Tournament took place at Northfield Golf Course on Saturday, with Alex Gochinski, Steve Gochinski, Jim O’Sullivan and Ed Reagey taking first. 

Mat Ainsworth won longest drive while Nate Patterson won closest to the pin. The tournament was put on by Grybko’s Garage, Davenport Trucking, All State Materials Group, Morin Electric, Champney’s Restaurant and Tavern, Ralph’s Blacksmith, South Deerfield Polish Club and Frontier Baseball Volunteers. The cookout crew was led by the 2003 WMass champion squad.

Frontier Junior Redhawks 26, West Brookfield 0 — Teague Washburn ran in a pair of scores, Carter Green and Jack Carey found the end zone while Ethan Clemons forced a safety in the Redhawk’s win Sunday. 

Chase Bysiewski had three sacks, Aidan Pitchko had a sack and Riley Rappe picked off a pass in the win. 

Frontier Senior Redhawks 39, West Brookfield 14 — Riggins Kopcza and Chase Carter each had a pair of touchdowns in the Redhawks’ win Sunday. 

KK Taylor and Landon Lavallee each had a touchdown, with Caden Washburn throwing a pair of scores. Zach Brown added a 2-point try while Gavin Hale, Connor Sheldon and Jack Herzig played well on defense. 

Franklin County Junior Bulldogs 12, Quabbin 0 — Avery Lococo ran for 59 yards and a score while Jackson Puchalski had 35 yards in a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ win Sunday. 

Wesley Darling had 10 tackles, Owen Castine recovered a fumble, Kaydin Snow-Rose had seven tackles while Collin Winslow had five tackles in the win. 

Franklin County Peewee Bulldogs 24, Quabbin 6 — Brock Puchalski had three touchdowns, one a pick six, while Gaven Keene found the end zone in the Bulldogs’ win Sunday. 

Jace Brunelle and Justin Martin led the way defensively.  

Youth hockey

FCHA 10U 10, Holy Name 2 — Nick Brisson scored four goals, Andrew Quintana had two goals, Lucas Edson had a goal and an assist, Finnigen Connelly, Jacoby Houle and Harper Coffin scored while Emerson Snow, Kilian Connelly and Gavin Demado had an assist in FCHA’s win Saturday. 

FCHA 10U 10, Nonotuck 1 — Brisson and Connelly each scored twice, Sam Edson, Demado and Lucas Edson had a goal and an assist, Houle, Emerson Snow and Quintana each had a goal, Aiden Baldwin dished two assists while Bath Brothers and Cahle Barbato each had an assist in FCHA’s win Sunday. 

Touch football

Gill CC Woodworking 18, J&J Athletics 0 — Pat Viencek threw touchdowns to Adam Bastarache, Jalen Sanders and Alex Bourassa while Dave Watson, Bourassa and Bastarache picked off passes in Gill’s win Sunday. Tyson Dowdy and Patrick Clarey played well in the loss. 

Namaste Rockets 18, Blitzing Bears 0 — Max Pirozkov threw touchdown passes to Lew Borden, Tyler Charboneau and Nuny Vega while Neal Kaham picked off three passes in the Rockets’ win. 

TJ Perry and JoJo Ratcliff each had an interception for the Bears. 

Titans 22, Namaste Pink Panthers 6 — Julio Rivera found Calvin James for a pair of scores while also throwing a touchdown to Tony Scruggs in the Titans’ win. 

Jared Hart found Mason Meadows for the Panthers’ lone score. 

Ultimate

Greenfield Pickup celebrated its 40th year of playing ultimate games on Sunday.

Sylvia Guillaume won the accuracy throw contest with Hakim Noah, Jen Lundquist and Sam Plotkin tying for second. Zach Riley and Aiden McGovern won the huck contest followed by Sam Stone and Andy Charlton and Tokeem Tolbert and Noah.
