Orange’s Delaney Parker continues to add to her trophy collection.
The Mahar Regional alum wrapped up her soccer career at Westfield State University with the program record in goals (87) and points (208), becoming the only Owl athlete to eclipse the 200-point mark in a career.
The accomplishments didn’t just come on the pitch. On Wednesday, Parker was named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-American team, becoming the third Westfield State women’s soccer player since 2014 to win the award. Parker was one of 34 players chosen for the award, which selects from 420 schools at the women’s Div. III level.
“It’s amazing,” Parker said of the accomplishment in a release. “Going into college, I never would have expected it, but it shows how hard work pays off.”
Parker is a sports medicine major who holds a 3.96 GPA and is hoping to attend graduate school in physical therapy.
“It’s great to see her recognized for her hard work on the field, and in the classroom,” Westfield State women’s soccer coach Todd Ditmar said. “She’s probably the hardest working player of any who have played for me, and she’s always been driven to get better.”
